Rebase Co-Founders Face $77M Legal Showdown
Krzysztof Gagacki, co-founder of the Rebase NFT platform, has filed a $77 million lawsuit against his partner Edmond Truong for the alleged theft of $2 million. Gagacki claims that Truong stole the funds without his permission from a joint wallet. He also alleges damages to his reputation and has asked for relief of $77 million. The lawsuit accuses Truong of several counts of misconduct, including breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, and defamation. Gagacki's lawyers claim to have evidence of WhatsApp messages where Truong admits his misconduct. The lawsuit states that Truong contacted Rebase's investors and claimed to be the company's sole founder, and changed the password for Twitter handles @REBASEgg and @cybellaxyz.

NFT App Rebase Co-founder Accused of Going ‘Rogue’ in Suit by Partner
The co-founder of NFT project Rebase, Krzysztof Gagacki, has filed a lawsuit against his partner, accusing him of stealing $2 million from their joint crypto wallet and removing Gagacki from the business. Gagacki claims to own a 50% share of the funds and says his partner refuses to provide him with the private keys to the digital wallet. The lawsuit also alleges that the partner presented himself to third parties as the "sole owner" and "decision maker" for Rebase and made defamatory statements about Gagacki. The lawsuit further claims that the partner seized Twitter accounts relating to NFT collections, including one featuring American celebrity Bella Hadid, which Gagacki claims to have trademark rights for. The partner also allegedly pursued issuing a Rebase token on the Ethereum layer 2 scaling solution Arbitrum without Gagacki's authorization. Rebase is set to integrate on Arbitrum on April 21.
