Visa Announces Ambitious Crypto Product Roadmap Tapping on Ethereum Network

Visa is reportedly hiring senior software engineers to help build scalable Web 3.0 products and drive mainstream adoption of public blockchain networks and stablecoin payments. The company is searching for engineers with a good understanding of public and permissioned distributed ledger technology (DLT) networks, security protocols, and private key custody, as well as Layer 1 and Layer 2 solutions and experience writing smart contracts using the Solidity programming language. Visa is likely to tap the Polygon network to scale its Ethereum smart contract capabilities in Web 3.0 development. The company has already made investments in the NFT and stablecoins market and is working with central banks to help scale the adoption of CBDCs. Visa's CBDC Payments Module is designed to provide an on-ramp for CBDC to existing payment networks.

Round 3 of Post-shapella ETH Withdrawals Sees Most Re-staked: Data

Ethereum staking withdrawals for the third time have been mostly re-staked, according to data from Nansen. The crypto exchange Kraken was responsible for a large portion of these withdrawals. While the last large batch of withdrawals on April 24 was a total of 61,608 ETH in principal and reward withdrawals, 63,009 ETH deposits were made at the same time, suggesting most of it may have been re-staked. Before the last wave of withdrawals, Nansen reported an all-time high in the total amount of staked ETH. The current figure represents 14.5% of the total Ether supply.

Third Round of ETH Withdrawals Sees Roughly Equal Amounts of Deposits

Most of the Ethereum (ETH) being withdrawn from staking has been re-staked, according to data from the analytics platform Nansen. The third round of withdrawals started on April 24 and into April 25, with Kraken responsible for a large portion of these withdrawals. However, the majority has been re-staked, resulting in zero change in the balance of staked ETH over the past 24 hours. Nansen currently reports there is a total of 632,651 ETH waiting in the pending withdrawal queue, valued at around $1.16 billion. The figure represents 14.5% of the total Ether supply.
