EigenLayer announced that, following the data availability solution EigenDA, six new Active Verification Services (AVS) have been launched. These include AltLayer, which focuses on RaaS, Brevis and Lagrange, which focus on ZKd co-processors, eoracle, which focuses on oracle solutions, Witness Chain, which focuses on DePIN services, and Xterio, which focuses on gaming services.

DefiLlama data shows that the total value locked (TVL) of Ethereum's re-staking protocol EigenLayer has risen to $13.6 billion, with a 7-day increase of 14.41%.

The key functions of the cryptocurrency project EigenLayer are not yet complete. The "re-collateralization" agreement, which has a deposit of $15 billion, has not paid depositors' rewards and also lacks a key "punishment" function. Although the project attracted $12 billion in user deposits when it was launched on the Ethereum mainnet, most of the core functions have not been activated, including the reward system and "punishment" mechanism. Despite attracting widespread attention from the market, EigenLayer has not yet achieved the expected level, and market expectations continue to rise. EigenLayer founder and chief architect Sreeram Kannan admitted in an interview that the project will continue to move forward without some key functions, but will be launched in "stages" on an unspecified timetable.

EigenLayer announced that it will upgrade the mainnet smart contract on April 8th (Monday). At that time, the EigenLayer mainnet app (app.eigenlayer.xyz) may be suspended for up to 24 hours. To avoid delays in fund withdrawals, EigenLayer recommends that users complete all pending withdrawal requests before April 8th. Otherwise, they will have to wait for the app to fully recover before they can operate, which may take up to 24 hours. EigenLayer stated that, apart from early withdrawals, no other actions are required from users for this upgrade.

Coinbase analysts David Han and David Duong revealed the hidden security and financial risks in the Ethereum EigenLayer reconstruction protocol. EigenLayer allows validators to earn extra rewards or LRT by participating in active verification services (AVS). While the protocol can park assets and increase revenue, it also increases risks. Analysts also emphasized the potential of the protocol in promoting Ethereum innovation and infrastructure development.

After the Goerli testnet was discontinued, EigenLayer released its retest protocol and EigenDA data availability solution on the Holesky testnet. Now, users can conduct retests on the Holesky testnet, and operators can integrate with EigenLayer's infrastructure on the Holesky testnet. The Rollup sequencer and full node can now interact with EigenDA on Holesky, publishing, retrieving, and verifying data blobs.

Ethos is being developed as a "verification service" on EigenLayer, aimed at strengthening the security of the Cosmos chain by leveraging Ethereum staking. The project is working with multiple liquidity re-staking protocols to allocate Ethereum staking to protect the Cosmos chain, accumulating security commitments worth $4 billion, including protocol commitments from EtherFi, Puffer, Renzo, Swell, and Kelp, which will transfer their staked Ethereum controlled by EigenLayer to Ethos.

EigenLayer announced that it will gradually launch the mainnet in the coming weeks, with the aim of supporting a seamless transition to the EigenLayer mainnet. Before the mainnet deployment, all content will be tested on the Holesky testnet. EigenLayer stated that the reason for the gradual rollout of the mainnet is to ensure security and performance. By cautiously introducing features in steps, potential risks can be minimized, and network performance can be measured and optimized as more users and operators join the ecosystem, ensuring a stable and scalable network for everyone.

On March 3rd, the official website of Ethereum re-staking protocol EigenLayer stated that EigenLayer TVL has reached 2.931 million ETH, worth approximately 10.053 billion US dollars.

Venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) has invested $100 million in the cryptocurrency startup EigenLayer.
