June 19 (Cointime) - Coinbase has criticized the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) for failing to provide clear answers to questions asked in the U.S. Court of Appeals regarding Coinbase's rulemaking petition for a regulatory framework for digital assets.
In response to the SEC's request for an additional 120 days to reply to the petition, Coinbase accused the SEC of being reluctant to inform the Court of updates on its decision.
Coinbase's chief legal officer, Paul Grewal, has expressed hope for the Court to grant a writ of Mandamus to order the SEC to fulfill its official duties under the law. The SEC also recently sued Coinbase for allegedly breaking various securities rules.
