SBI Holdings will launch a US$662 million fund by the end of 2023, mainly investing in emerging companies such as Web3, AI and Yuanverse

apanese financial services giant SBI Holdings announced that it will launch a fund by the end of 2023 to invest in emerging companies such as Web3, AI, and metaverse, with an expected investment amount of hundreds of millions to tens of billions of yen per project and a total investment of 150 to 200 companies. The expected total amount of the fund will reach 100 billion yen ($662 million). SBI Holdings stated that it will support Japanese startups by inviting major domestic and regional banks to invest. As of now, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Mizuho Bank, Nippon Life Insurance, and Daiwa Securities Group have decided to invest more than 50 billion yen in the fund.

SK Telecom partners with Atomrigs Lab to develop Web3 wallet on Aptos blockchain for mass adoption

South Korea's largest telecommunications company, SK Telecom, is partnering with Atomrigs Lab to develop a Web3 wallet on the Aptos blockchain. The wallet will use Atomrigs' multi-party computation (MPC) encryption technology to secure assets and hold virtual assets including non-fungible tokens (NFTs), digital IDs, and cryptocurrencies like Ethereum and Klayton. SK Telecom plans to link its Web3 wallet with its mobile wallet to expand its applicable use cases. The partnership is part of SK Telecom's commitment to delivering a seamless and secure Web3 experience for users. Aptos Labs has been expanding its partnership portfolio with some of the world's largest companies to onboard masses to Web3.

Vietnamese Web3 Coalition Launches $25 Million Ecosystem Fund for Web3 Startups in Asia

Ninety Eight, a Vietnamese Web3 coalition and creator of the Coin98 DeFi ecosystem, has launched a $25 million ecosystem fund to support Web3 startups in Asia. The fund will offer financial and strategic assistance to selected startups, as well as access to the firm's Viction layer-1 blockchain infrastructure for low-gas fee transactions and enhanced security. The Ninety Eight Ecosystem Fund's native token, $C98, can be used for storing, sending, receiving, and managing crypto assets, as well as connecting to decentralized applications on over 40 blockchains. Arche Fund, a venture arm within the Ninety Eight ecosystem, will manage the fund and work closely with selected startups to maximize their potential.
