Data: Taiko mainnet has 24.89 million transactions in the first month, with a total of about 710,000 independent wallets
Taiko releases statistics for the first month since the mainnet went live. As of the time of writing, Taiko has processed 24.89 million transactions, with approximately 710,000 independent wallets. The daily average TPS is 19.53.
Taiko responds to L2 high fee issue: Additional delegate call costs increase, and it will take 40-60 days to improve
In response to community feedback that the Taiko protocol is more expensive than other L2 networks, Taiko has explained on the X platform that the Taiko Protocol involves more logic and storage. The current implementation uses several upgradeable proxies, which increases the additional delegation call costs. In addition, the on-chain blocks are not proposed or proven in batches, and the proposer and Ethereum need to interact more frequently to compete for block space and ensure on-chain activity, but this leads to the on-chain ring buffer not being exhausted, making storage writing more expensive. This situation is expected to take about 40 to 60 days to improve. Decentralization and permissionlessness come at a cost, and if there are a large number of transactions on L2, the Rollup-based solution is still viable and profitable for block proposers and validators, especially when using MEV. Taiko is committed to further optimization and hopes that others will be interested in and help improve the codebase. Taiko's Trailblazers project will incentivize block proposers.

OKX Ventures announces additional investment in Ethereum second-layer network Taiko
OKX Ventures announced additional investment in Taiko, a decentralized Type-1 ZK-EVM on Ethereum's layer 2 network.Since 2022, Taiko has been at the forefront of innovation, successfully conducting six testnets, with over 1.1 million unique wallets, more than 30,000 proposers, and over 14,000 validators. The active community members on Discord exceed 850,000, supporting over 100 real-time applications. Taiko plays a critical role in scaling Ethereum and building decentralized, permissionless, and secure layer 2 architecture.Dora, the founder of OKX Ventures, said that she is honored to participate in Taiko's series A financing based on zkRollup's Ethereum layer 2 network. OKX Ventures has participated in Taiko's two rounds of financing so far and congratulates Taiko on its growth over the past year. Taiko continues to follow its original goal of building a fully decentralized network with decentralized sorters and validators, allowing developers to deploy to the Taiko network without modifying existing dApps using the powerful features of Ethereum L1. Taiko will launch its mainnet in the first half of 2024, entering the next milestone and welcoming explosive growth in its ecosystem.
Bitget Wallet adds support for Taiko testnet
Bitget Wallet (formerly BitKeep Wallet) has added support for the Taiko Alpha-6 testnet Katla and plans to connect as soon as possible after the Taiko mainnet goes live. Users can now customize and add the Taiko test network for token addition and transfer on the Bitget Wallet mobile app and browser plugin. Bitget Wallet has been actively expanding its support for Layer2 new public chain ecology, providing users with a convenient Layer2 ecological interaction experience.Taiko is an Ethereum Layer2 network based on zkRollup that uses zero-knowledge extended virtual machine (zkEVM).
Layer 2 project Taiko launches the final test network Katla, and the main network is expected to be released at the end of the first quarter
Taiko, an Ethereum Layer 2 project based on zkRollup, has launched its final test and released Katla. Its mainnet is expected to go live at the end of the first quarter of 2024. Katla is Taiko developers' sixth Taiko testnet and introduces a new rollup design called a multi-proof-based competitive rollup. This combines elements of Optimistic and ZK-rollups and is expected to benefit decentralized applications that require high throughput and cost efficiency. Taiko Labs raised $22 million through two rounds of financing earlier, with the first round being a $10 million seed round led by Sequoia China in 2022 and the second round being a $12 million Pre-A round led by Generative Ventures in 2023.
