LayerZero introduces cross-chain interoperability for wstETH, expanding DeFi opportunities beyond Ethereum
LayerZero's interoperability protocol now allows for the transfer of wrapped stETH tokens (wstETH) from Lido Finance's liquid staking protocol across multiple chains, including Ethereum, Avalanche, BNB Chain, and Scroll. The integration of wstETH into LayerZero's omnichain fungible token standard (OFT) aims to mitigate risks associated with wrapped assets in cross-chain native token transfers. OFT uses a decentralized communication protocol to move tokens, rather than minting and burning wrapped tokens. This cross-chain interoperability of wstETH is expected to expand DeFi opportunities beyond Ethereum and into Avalanche, BNB, and Scroll. Lido Finance currently has the highest total value locked (TVL) among liquid staking protocols, with $15.85 billion locked in as of October 25th.
Portfolio Insights: LayerZero
As developers continue to explore new omnichain use cases, we are also anticipating new applications that can be built using LayerZero such as NFT financialization, yield aggregators, omnichain wallets that don’t require change of RPCs, gaming, social, DID and many more.
Polyhedra Network Introduces zkBridge Into the Manta Network Ecosystem
The zero-knowledge proof ZK protocol Manta Network and Polyhedra Network have reached a cooperation agreement. The strategic partnership will provide interoperability for the Manta Network ecosystem by using zkBridge, enabling fast finality between Manta Pacific and other blockchain networks, and providing cross-chain interoperability for zkSBT.
Ripple Has Become a Full Member of BIS “Cross-Border Settlement of Payments and Expanding Interoperability”
Ripple has now become an official member of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) "Payment, clearing and settlement in cross-border transactions and expanding interoperability". The joining took place on August 9th and is part of a wider initiative by the "Committee on Payments and Market Infrastructures" of the BIS.
Enjin NFT platform announces the addition of Polkadot to its new mainnet
Enjin NFT platform announced that it will integrate Polkadot into its new mainnet, enabling greater interoperability between different blockchains. Enjin also plans to leverage Polkadot's parachain technology to provide enhanced scalability and faster transaction confirmations.
Caldera Partners with Espresso Systems to Bring Decentralized Sequencing to OP Stack
Caldera has partnered with Espresso Systems to enable decentralized sequencing to the OP stack and Caldera chains, allowing for greater scaling and interoperability. This partnership will also allow Caldera layer 2s to use the Espresso Sequencer for improved scalability and decentralization. The Espresso Sequencer offers high throughput, low latency transaction ordering and interoperability, making it a valuable addition to the Caldera platform. Developer teams can easily opt into the Espresso Sequencer as a plug-in component of Caldera's modular rollup stack.

Spectrum Finance Partners with Cardano to Expand Cross-Chain Interoperability
Cardano has partnered with Spectrum Finance, a cross-chain decentralized exchange (DEX) that specializes in trustless, cross-chain programmable messaging. Spectrum Finance offers various functionalities, including the Spectrum Finance Ergo AMM and Spectrum Finance Cardano AMM, which implement the Uniswap v2-like AMM protocol on top of Ergo Layer 1 blockchain and Cardano Layer 1 blockchain.
Polkadot's DOT Token Sees Uncertain Future Despite Development Activity and Bullish Market Sentiment
Despite an increase in development activity and unique addresses in Q2, the price of Polkadot's native token, DOT, has remained stagnant. However, the blockchain's advancement in interoperability could lead to rapid gains for DOT in Q3. Polkadot offers an ecosystem of custom blockchains called "parachains" that can host decentralized applications and be deployed on Polkadot's central hub, the Relay Chain.
Polygon Proposes Technical Upgrade To Convert MATIC Token Into Polygon (POL) for Multi-Chain Validation
Polygon, the Ethereum scaling solution, has proposed an upgrade for its native MATIC token to become Polygon (POL), which would validate multiple chains within the Polygon ecosystem. The upgrade aims to ensure scalability without compromising security and introduce a new level of interoperability between different protocols within the network.
