Computervision was an early pioneer in Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing computer systems until its acquisition in 1998.Computervision initially offered the CADDS-1, an automated design and drafting system targeting the printed circuit layout market. An improved version of the system is currently used in ship building. The U.S. Navy was also customer of the company and used the CADDS system for its ship designs. The company was acquired by Parametric Technology Corporation in 1998.
