Tom has written books on big data and cloud computing and is the author of a forthcoming book on Blockchain and Cryptocurrency. Tom is a Consulting Solutions Director with Oracle and also volunteers for AtrocityWatch, a non-profit organization which uses Big Data to detect early warning signs of atrocities. Tom has given presentations at over sixty conferences and has taught computer science courses for Virginia Tech. Prior to joining Oracle, Tom practiced patent law with Fliesler Meyer in San Francisco, representing Oracle and other Silicon Valley companies. Tom has a B.A. and J.D. from George Mason University, an M.S. in Computer Science from Virginia Tech, and has completed graduate coursework in Cybersecurity and Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University.
