Sergey Shalunov is a serial entrepreneur.

Growing up in a scientist family benefited him in more ways than merely sparking his passion for nanotechnology. By the time he graduated from university, he had developed a flavour for experimenting and an entrepreneurial spirit to match. At age 22, Sergey joined his father’s research & development company. Honing his business acumen while leading a sales function, he quickly progressed to the General Manager and Product Owner roles in just a few years. Eventually he took over a few high-tech projects. For example, his composite materials that were three to four times more wear-resistant than standard alloys, and the affordable coolant that performed as effectively as the expensive coolant of a well-known European brand.

Following a successful tenure, Sergey pivoted to real estate developing a shopping mall and a residential building in the UAE.
His curiosity and appetite for trying out new things led to him launching yet another enterprise, now in the IoT space. While working on this project, Sergey spotted a much bigger opportunity in the PropTech and ESG sectors. Given the problem of inefficient HVAC management (Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning) in Real Estate and global climate change, there was a need for HVAC intelligent management and optimization in order to keep utility bills under control and reduce carbon footprint.
