Peter Wendell is the founder and a managing director of Sierra Ventures, the $1.5 billion Silicon Valley venture capital firm. Forbes magazine has named him one of the 100 best venture investors in the United States.
Peter holds a faculty appointment at Stanford Business School, co-teaching “Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital" with Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt.
Peter also serves on the board of directors of Merck & Co. Inc. (NYSE-MRK) and has served as a member of the corporate board of directors for more than 25 other companies.
Earlier, Peter was employed by IBM for 10 years in a variety of management positions. He attended Harvard Business School, receiving an MBA with distinction and also working for McKinsey & Company while at Harvard.
Peter holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from Princeton University where he currently serves as a Charter Trustee and previously served as chairman of the board of Princeton’s $17 billion endowment.
