Manoj Saxena is the Executive Chairman of Responsible AI Institute a non-profit dedicated to certification of Trustworthy and Ethical AI. He is also Founder and Chairman of Trustwise an AI safety startup on a mission to democratize AI that is safe, observable, and compliant.

Until recently, Saxena was Chairman of the board of CognitiveScale and of the US Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, San Antonio and served for six years in that role.

Previously, he served as the first General Manager of IBM Watson, where his team built the first cognitive systems. Prior to IBM, Saxena was the founder and CEO of two venture-backed software companies which were acquired within a five-year span by Commerce One and by IBM.

Saxena is a Director of the Saxena Family Foundation and a Lecturer at University of Texas Austin where he teaches a course on Design of Ethical Artificial Intelligence systems.

In his part time, he is an avid auto racing enthusiast and has completed over 60,000 miles in track, endurance and auto rally races around the world in his 1934 Alvis Speed 20, 1972 Datsun 240z, and 2009 Porsche 911 GT3RS.

Saxena holds a post graduate degree in business administration from Michigan State University, and graduate degree in management sciences from the Birla Institute of Technology & Science in Pilani, India. Holder of nine software patents.
