Ilhan A. Aksay is a Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Princeton University. Dr. Aksay has published extensively on graphene and its applications, as well as on biologically inspired and self-assembling materials, ceramics, colloids, and electrohydrodynamic phenomena.

Dr. Aksay has been internationally recognized with numerous honors including the Richard M. Fulrath Award (1987) and the Edward C. Henry Award (2000) of the American Ceramic Society, the Charles M.A. Stine Award (1997) of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, and the Turkish National Medal of Science (2001).

Ilhan Aksay is a Fellow of the American Ceramic Society, an honorary member of the Japanese Materials Research Society, and a member of the US National Academy of Engineering. He earned his B.Sc. in ceramic engineering at the University of Washington and his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in materials science and engineering at the University of California, Berkeley.
