Hiroyuki Wakabayashi is senior executive director responsible for the Information & Safety Systems Business Group at DENSO Corporation in Kariya, Aichi, Japan.

After receiving a bachelor's degree in Engineering from Tokyo University, Wakabayashi joined DENSO Corporation (formerly Nippondenso Co., Ltd.) in 1979.

Wakabayashi began his career in the Production Engineering Division, where he was responsible for the development of resin materials. While in this division, he contributed to significantly reducing the weight and costs of automotive components such as radiators by using newly developed resin materials.

In recognition of Wakabayashi's material development expertise, he was appointed to director of the Material Engineering R&D Division in April 2001. During his tenure, he led the development of various materials including a highly rigid material for common rail systems and corrosion-resistant materials for thermal components.

Wakabayashi became project director of the Quality Control Division in January 2006, and was named one of DENSO's executive directors in June 2006. He was promoted to senior executive director in June 2013.
