Ewald Hesse is Chairman of the Energy Web Foundation and leads the Grid Singularity venture, rooted in his extensive experience in the energy sector and acute interest in distributed business models. Grid Singularity, established in early 2016, has become globally recognized as a leading blockchain technology developer in the energy sector, featured in relevant industry reports and events, including the Clean Energy Ministerial Conference (San Francisco, USA, June 2016), European Utility Week, (Barcelona, Spain, October 2016), the CleanTech Forum Europe (Lyon, France, April 2016), the International Smart Grid Action Network workshop (Yokohama, Japan, March 2016), the DENA TechFestival (Berlin, March 2017) the MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge (February 2016), and many others.

Prior to founding Grid Singularity, Ewald served as Regional director for business development and strategy in Southeast Europe at Andritz Hydro, one of the world’s largest hydropower technology providers. Earlier in his career, he explored technology transfer and joint ventures in China and the European automobile sector, working in management positions at Metzler and ABB. He then also co-founded several companies in the area merchandise and distribution such as Trend Visions Trading.
