Before retiring at the end of May 2016, David Hodgson served as a Senior Partner. With 40 years of experience, he most recently was Deloitte’s Global Leader of Risk Services for the Life Sciences and Healthcare sector. Appointed in 2009, David led this global business to $1 billion in revenue, with a double digit CAGR.David has applied his strategic thinking, risk management and financial experience to advise the boards and senior leadership teams of a broad range of global companies. His experience includes:• Advising the acquirors in three of the largest M&A transactions in history on risk and control issues.• Advising on several divestitures.• Establishing enterprise risk management programs and reporting to boards/senior managements on risks.• Advising on internal controls, regulatory and Sarbanes-Oxley issues at a range of organizations, including companies preparing for IPOs.David has been selected to serve on several internal Deloitte advisory committees, including a committee overseeing the partner compensation process and chairing a committee responsible for recommending a practice leader for one of the firm’s largest regions.Prior to joining Deloitte in 2001, David was a Partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP where he worked for over 25 years in positions of increasing responsibility. He joined the Newcastle-upon-Tyne office of Price Waterhouse in the U.K. as a campus hire and transferred to the U.S. firm in 1983 after a two year assignment in Houston, Texas. David relocated to New York City in 1985 to lead an effort to develop global guidance on IT auditing and currently resides in the New York/New Jersey area.David has a Bachelor of Science degree, with honors, in Chemistry from Durham University in England. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in NJ, NY and MA, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in the U.K.
