Mr. Birmingham brings over 30 years of experience in leading growth-oriented health care service companies on the leading edge. He is currently Vice President of Corporate Development of CareMore Health Plan, recently acquired by WellPoint, Inc., where he is responsible for the national expansion of health plans and new product development. He has served as General Manager of CareMore Touch focusing on clinical and business operations, development and distribution of the Medicare Special Needs Plan. Immediately prior to joining CareMore, Mr. Birmingham was a Board member and COO of a health information exchange company that offered a platform for data exchange and "Cloud" computing linking reference labs to physicians. This company was ultimately acquired by IBM. Mr. Birmingham is a nationally recognized expert in the integration of Medicare and Medicaid services for seniors and in Medicaid behavioral managed care. He led the development of the $200 million Massachusetts Mental Health and Substance Abuse Managed Care and ran the Medicare special needs plans for low income seniors at Secure Horizons. He also led the sales team of a Medicare Advantage plan for chronically ill seniors that grew from $10 million in annual revenue to $1 billion in 12 months. Mr. Birmingham is a Board member of National Healthcare Services, a venture capital fund specializing in health care technology. Mr. Birmingham earned an MBA at Vanderbilt University and a B.S. in Psychology from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, PA.
