April 22 (Cointime) - Solana Foundation has announced the launch of real-time tracking dashboard to measure carbon emissions on the Solana blockchain.
According to an official blog post, the emissions tracker was developed in collaboration with Trycarbonara, a carbon data platform, and embeds software directly on Solana nodes to provide the most comprehensive and accurate measurement of the blockchain’s footprint to date.
1/ Today, the Solana Foundation is leading the charge in the climate fight by making Solana one of the first blockchains to have its emissions measured in real time, thanks to a new data portal created with TryCarbonara.

The new dashboard can be found on the Solana Climate website. The emissions tracker changes dynamically based on throughput and changes in the validator network, including:
- Emissions of RPC nodes
- Carbon footprint of individual validators
- Embodied emissions, including hardware manufacturing and transport
The tracker also includes comparison charts that help put the carbon footprint of the Solana blockchain and individual interactions with the chain in perspective.
