SEC Chairman Gary Gensler Says Crypto Markets and Existing Regulatory Framework Are Compatible

In a recent tweet, Gary Gensler, Chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), underscored the need for the cryptocurrency market to comply with securities laws.

Gensler stated that there is nothing incompatible between the crypto markets and the existing regulatory framework, and the SEC's goal is to ensure investor protection.

There's nothing incompatible in the crypto mkts w/ the securities laws. A goal of our work @SECGov is to bring this field into compliance. That way, investors get the same time-tested protections they get elsewhere in the mkts.
