There was a lot that happened within Realms and Loot this week so we split our update into two reports. Yesterday we published a report on the attempted theft of the Loot Treasury and a counter request to move the Loot Royalty funds to BiblioDAO for safekeeping. Today, we’re focusing on Frontinus House developments and DAO governance discussions. Plus, of course, our mascots, Nibs and Sir Nobs.
DAO Governance Updates
In BiblioDAO this week, two critical governance votes are underway. The first is a new delegation round, allowing members to appoint representatives for voting. If you are interested in being a delegate, the deadline ends today at 11:55pm UTC, so sign up quickly here.
Next, BIP-28: Formation of Ecosystem Council, was proposed by DAO member Recipromancer just two days ago and has already prompted heated discussions about the future growth of BiblioDAO. The proposal calls for a council responsible for expanding the ecosystem to attract builders, support projects, and monitor progress. The vote is currently split as DAO members weigh the appropriateness, benefits and risks of centralizing key funding decisions. Initial comments have been posted on the BIP itself but more nuanced opinions can be found via the Frontinus House channel in the Realms Discord.
Loot Royalty Voting
- The treasury for Frontinus House, the funding arm for the Realms ecosystem, was bolstered this week with a unanimous vote to send 150 ETH to attract and support Loot-related games.
- A current vote, concluding on January 13,will determine whether to transfer477 WETH (around $1.2 million USD) to Frontinus House for safekeeping andpossiblefuture use in Loot-related projects.
Frontinus House Updates
As usual, we have a many updates from Frontinus House builders this week. Games slowly march toward public testing phases with some already across the finish line. To date, Rising Revenants, Crypts and Caverns and Arcane Assembler have playable alpha versions, while two others, GenLoot and Call the Banners, are preparing their own releases by the end of the month.
Now for more updates:
- Arcane AssemblerA fully playable version has been launched on Slot with login and lobby functionality added this week. A closed test phase will begin next week for a small group of DAO volunteers. Pay attention to Discord and the Herald Report if you are interested in alpha testing.
- Call the BannersNo significant updates as they continue toward alpha release at the end of this month.
- Crypto HeroesCrypto Heroesis expanding its team, currently interviewing candidates for front-end, back-end, and design roles, with a strong front-end candidate identified. The team is also seeking additional funding from venture capitalists and conducting research on the xpet model and social gaming trends. Additionally, they are in the process of finding a physical office space. The team hasn’t made any comments on proposal milestones but it seems likely a viewable/useable version will be delayed.
- Crypts and Caverns - Survivor IntegrationA fully playable integration of Loot Survivor is available right now on Testnet. To play you’ll need to be on Starknet’s Goerli Testnet and mint some $LORDS. Then, create a name and starting weapon and you’re ready to go. Crypts and Caverns has built in a side quest where you can challenge beasts within a crypt at any time to get in-game buffs. There are some balancing updates that need to be made but it is a fun modification of the originalLoot Survivorgame.
- GenLootThe team’s focus this week has been integrating its underlying game logic. The original milestone was to have the game framework done by 1/14 so full implementation appears to be delayed. Nevertheless, we do have some art teasers to share this week:

Introducing Loot Gambit
Early art was leaked from Loot Gambit, a strategy game spearheaded by KingBlack promising future loot-related NFT integrations. The style draws inspiration from Hyperloot and Realms and promises a dark fantasy storyline featuring roguelike elements and turn-based combat.
Here’s the gameplay description from King Black:
Traverse haunted dungeons, ancient castles, treacherous caves, and mysterious villages, where every shadow conceals a lurking evil. Recruit a diverse cast of allies and adventurers, each with unique histories, individual skills and abilities to aid you in your quest.
A game demo is in the works and will be crafted using the open-source Solar2D SDK (formerly Corona SDK), utilizing the Lua programming language. A potential long-term goal from the team is to move the game assets and logic completely onchain, possibly tapping into the autonomous world structure being developed by BiblioDAO.
