Polygon Lido Staking and Withdrawal Services Halted for Troubleshooting

Cointime Official

Lido Finance, a liquid staking solution for Ethereum, announced Polygon Lido staking and withdrawal services have been halted temporarily due to a bug affecting stMATIC withdrawals.

"All funds are safe and deposits and withdrawals will resume in the next few days", Lido added.

Full thread:

This morning an issue with withdrawals impacting large stMATIC withdrawals surfaced.

The issue occurs when a user requests a large withdrawal amount split between multiple nodes. In this case, the exchange rate is 1:1 between stMATIC & MATIC.

A technical description of the issue is available here: https://github.com/lidofinance/polygon-contracts/blob/main/audits/v2/Shardlabs/LoP-v2-WithdrawRequest.pdf

Deposits and withdrawals have been paused during troubleshooting. The estimated time to return to normal operations is in the coming days.

Rewards will not accrue while troubleshooting is ongoing. When normal operation resumes, retroactive rewards will be distributed.

The security and safety of the protocol is paramount and the pausing of deposits and withdrawals is taken out of prudence.

A full post-mortem will be shared in the coming weeks.
