To ensure a smooth transition, the prototype mainnet phase has been extended to give developers, validators, and delegators time to adapt and prepare for the switch to the Zilliqa 2.0 mainnet. The full mainnet launch will officially switch the current Zilliqa mainnet to Zilliqa 2.0, and delegators will need to reassign their staking to their chosen validators. The extended Aventurine prototype mainnet phase provides an opportunity for everyone (developers, validators, and delegators) to participate, enhance Zilliqa's decentralization, test the system, and provide feedback.
