Worldcoin's World ID project, which aims to provide a global digital passport using zero-knowledge proofs to protect privacy, has surpassed two million users in less than half the time it took to reach the first million.
To sign up, individuals must visit an orb to scan one of their eyeballs and create a unique "IrisHash" for verification.
Worldcoin credits the recent sign-up rush to a multi-city tour and anticipates an increase in availability of the eye-scanning devices, as well as more apps and services using the World ID protocol.
