Wendy's has partnered with Google Cloud to create an AI chatbot called "Wendy's FreshAI" that will take orders from drive-thru customers. The chatbot will use natural language processing and machine learning algorithms to generate responses. Wendy's CEO and president Todd Penegor stated that the chatbot will be conversational and customers won't know they're talking to a bot. However, there are challenges associated with using chatbots for drive-thru orders, such as the diversity of customers' orders and background noise. Wendy's FreshAI will undergo a pilot launch in June at a Columbus, Ohio restaurant before being rolled out to multiple stores.
