This decentralized internet powered by blockchain technology is gaining traction, particularly as data privacy concerns grow. While 90% of South Africans consider online privacy important, half express faith in their current internet services.
Cryptocurrency is seen as a catalyst for transforming the financial system, with 98% of South Africans having heard of it and 61% understanding what it is. However, concerns around scams, market volatility, and lack of understanding remain, and building trust and transparency is crucial for widespread adoption.
