According to Jamie Burke, founder and CEO of Web3 accelerator Outlier Ventures, the original vision of Web3 to create an interoperable financial landscape is under attack from concepts like Web2.5 and regulatory actions. Burke stated that some projects are compromising on limited versions of Web3 due to technical limitations, resulting in products that are not fully interoperable. This becomes a problem in decentralized finance, where fluidity and composability are necessary. Burke also believes that regulatory challenges lead to the stifling of innovation and suggests enabling peer-to-peer markets to increase the exchange of value and generate greater tax income for the state.
