US authorities have made over $215m from selling bitcoins seized from the Silk Road marketplace in November 2021, according to court documents.
The US government is holding a balance of 41,490 bitcoins ($1.1bn), which they expect to sell in four different batches throughout 2023.
With the US government planning to dispose of its remaining bitcoin holdings, speculators anticipate that this could have a significant impact on the bitcoin markets amid a difficult period for cryptocurrencies.
