'Unelected bureaucrat', Ripple CEO blasts SEC's Gensler on weaponizing regulatory uncertainty

June 17 (Cointime) - Brad Garlinghouse, CEO of Ripple, has criticized the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and its current chair, Gary Gensler, for their handling of cryptocurrency regulation.

Garlinghouse accused the SEC of deliberately creating confusion about regulations and using this ambiguity to enforce its will selectively. He also alleged that the SEC is attempting to stifle crypto innovation in the US and that Gensler is a "bureaucrat" who is weaponizing regulatory uncertainty. Garlinghouse emphasized the need for clarity and a fair regulatory framework in cryptocurrency.
