U.S. SEC Delays Approval of Spot Bitcoin ETFs From BlackRock, Fidelity and Other Companies

September 1st, according to The Block, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) stated on Thursday that it will delay its approval decision on seven recent proposals for spot Bitcoin ETFs as the agency is reviewing the application files.

In a separate filing, the regulatory agency stated that the decision deadline for BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust, Fidelity's Wise Origin Bitcoin Trust, VanEck Bitcoin Trust, WisdomTree Bitcoin Trust, and Invesco Galaxy Bitcoin ETF will be extended to October 17th, while the deadline for Valkyrie Bitcoin Fund will be postponed to October 19th. In addition, the decision deadline for Bitwise Bitcoin ETP Trust Fund will also be postponed to October 16th.
