New York Representative Ritchie Torres has written a letter to SEC chair Gary Gensler, asking the regulator to reconsider its approach to crypto regulation after a court ruling in the SEC's case against Ripple. Torres called for the SEC to limit its enforcement cases to "bonafide bad actors" and to stop treating the majority of crypto assets as securities. He also criticised the SEC for sending "mixed messages" and not providing clear guidance on crypto assets. Torres is a member of the Congressional Blockchain Caucus and shares a surname with the judge in the SEC v. Ripple case.
