On Thursday, Twitter Inc announced that its encrypted messaging service is now available to verified users who subscribe to its Blue verification feature. The service can be accessed by users who have the latest version of the app installed.

Twitter Blue subscription, which starts at $8 per month or $84 a year, is now the basis for verification on the platform. The company stated in a blog post that it is working towards ensuring that even if someone puts a gun to their heads, they still cannot access users' messages, as Elon Musk had suggested.
