This means that there may be a period of "gap" in the regulatory agency. Behnam has led the CFTC for four years, during which the most famous action was the crackdown on the cryptocurrency exchange Binance's violation of anti-money laundering laws, which ultimately led to one of the largest corporate penalties in history and caused Binance CEO CZ to step down.
