Tron’s founder and former CEO, Justin Sun, has shared an ambitious goal of having at least five countries adopt TRX as legal tender by the end of this year.
In October 2022, the commonwealth of Dominica granted all Tron-based digital assets, including TRX, BTT, JST, NFT, USDD, USDT and TUSD, statutory status as authorised digital currencies and mediums of exchange.
Early-last week, MP Rolando Brison, Leader of the united People’s Party and second vice chairman of St. Maarten’s parliament, initiated a proposal for a law that would designate Tron as the country’s national blockchain infrastructure and TRX as a legal tender.
Justin Sun described St. Maarten’s efforts to adopt TRX as legal tender as ‘another achievement for [Tron’s] push on worldwide blockchain adoption.’
