On August 25th, Tornado Cash co-founder Roman Storm's lawyer Brian Klein stated that his client Roman Storm has been released on bail. Klein expressed disappointment in the prosecutor's charges against Roman Storm for his involvement in developing software.
Previously, on August 24th, the US Department of Justice arrested Tornado Cash co-founder Roman Storm, and both Roman Storm and Tornado Cash's other co-founder Roman Semenov were accused of conspiring to launder money, violating sanctions, and operating an unlicensed money transfer business.
Roman Semenov has also been sanctioned by the US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control. The indictment alleges that the two were responsible for over $1 billion in cryptocurrency laundering.
