SlowMist Security Reminder: Beware of phishing URLs disguised as wallet addresses

  • Wechat scan to share

On November 15th, the security team SlowMist issued a security reminder on its blog, stating that a new form of phishing and encryption fraud has emerged.

The scam usually starts with "off-exchange trading" as the reason, and the fraudster will ask the victim to transfer a small amount of funds, such as 0.1 USDT, to verify whether their address is at risk. Then, the fraudster sends a so-called "public chain" receiving address (actually a phishing URL), and emphasizes that the address must be entered in the wallet browser to conduct the transaction. Once the victim enters this "public chain" address in the browser and authorizes it, the assets in their account are stolen.
