500 validators have applied to run nodes on the upcoming Shibarium layer-2 network, according to lead Shiba Inu developer Shytoshi Kusama. These validators will be responsible for validating and verifying transactions on the network. The majority of applicants have already received invitations to experiment with the Shibarium Beta testnet before the mainnet launch. However, some applicants were not sent emails due to incorrect tagging. Only 100 slots are available for validator node operators on the Shibarium network, and staking at least 10,000 BONE tokens is a prerequisite for admission. New validators can only join when an active validator drops out. The influx of validator applications follows an encouragement from a notable member of the Shiba Inu community to join the project team.
