The Shiba Inu development team has launched the Shibarium Hackathon, inviting tech enthusiasts, Web3 developers, and designers to build unique applications using smart contracts on Puppynet. The hackathon is part of the Summer of Shibarium, leading up to the mainnet launch of the layer-2 scaling solution.

The grand prize for the hackathon is $5,000 in BONE, the governance token of Shibaswap. Participants are encouraged to form diverse groups and build new solutions and applications on decentralized finance, zero-trust finance, Distributed Cloud Operating System, and healthcare, with originality being a key requirement.
