The head of the Russian Central Bank, Elvira Nabiullina, has announced that the bank is considering the experimental use of cryptocurrency for foreign settlements. She also stated that special organizations will be created for this purpose, and a draft law is currently being prepared.
Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank, Alexei Guznov, clarified that within the experiment, analyses will be conducted on possible organizations, and their names will be determined later. Initially, these organizations will be state-owned, but private ones may appear in the future. He also added that the State Duma will consider a mining law in April, which will establish measures of responsibility, including criminal responsibility, for illegal cryptocurrency operations.
