In recent Twitter Spaces titled "What happened to XRP," Ripple's chief technology officer David Schwartz said, "One crazy assumption I have about digital assets is whether countries are aware that the US dollar will not always be a reserve currency."
Smaller countries know that their currency will never occupy the position of the world's reserve currency, but they also do not want to see their competitors unfairly make progress, which may lead these countries to choose digital currencies such as XRP as the world's reserve currency because it is not controlled by anyone, especially not by their geopolitical competitors.
