Primal, a startup dedicated to developing bitcoin-infused Nostr applications, has raised $1 million in funding from Ten31, Hivemind Ventures, and others, and aims to enable users to send small amounts of bitcoin called "zaps" to other users and their posts, anywhere in the world.
The Nostr protocol, which prioritizes censorship resistance, account ownership, and decentralization, has already attracted over 30 million users and continues to grow. The funding comes at a pivotal moment as the Nostr ecosystem offers a variety of players, not competitors like Twitter, and Primal plans to combine a Twitter-like interface with the open-source Nostr protocol.
