Casey Rodarmor, the developer of the Bitcoin protocol Ordinals, strongly opposes the censorship of blockchain transactions, including the controversial inscription used by the Ordinals project. He argues that complaints about ordinals and inscriptions will only make Bitcoin appear vulnerable and weaken the argument that Bitcoin is resistant to state intervention. Attempting to censor inscriptions is no different from censoring other types of transactions, and such actions only support overall censorship of Bitcoin. In a blog post, Rodarmor criticized the ideological extremists in the Bitcoin community, saying that they are hypocritical in supporting censorship while claiming that Bitcoin is an unstoppable and undisturbed currency. Although his views are similar to those of Bitcoin extremists, he does not consider himself an ideological extremist because ideologies often cannot survive in reality.Rodarmor himself is not interested in defending inscriptions, but he strongly opposes technological intervention to prevent any valid transactions.
