OpenSea has rebranded Gem V2 into OpenSea Pro in an attempt to win back users from its rival NFT marketplace Blur. OpenSea Pro launched on April 4, introducing new features and tools, and allowing users to list on OpenSea with 0% fees for a limited time. The move has received mixed responses from the community, with some celebrating the new platform and others criticizing OpenSea for focusing too much on trading tools rather than supporting artists. Some believe the move is a response to the growth of Blur, which surpassed OpenSea's daily Ether trading volume on Feb. 18. OpenSea acquired Blur in April 2022 with the aim of catering to more seasoned NFT collectors and enhancing their experience.
