Nexon, a major gaming company, is venturing into the web3 space by creating a blockchain-based ecosystem for its popular game MapleStory. This ecosystem will allow players to trade in-game assets as non-fungible tokens and Nexon is collaborating with partners to transition into web3 and create sustainable crypto games. In addition, the company is partnering with Haechi Labs to offer a self-custodial wallet called Face Wallet, which provides users with a user-friendly and secure way to log into crypto games through their existing accounts with Google, Facebook, Apple, Discord, and Kakao. Haechi Labs ensures that the encrypted data, known as "Share 2," is securely stored in both the user's device and the Face Wallet team's repository, and other developers are also working on making self-hosted wallets more user-friendly through smart contract capabilities and the Ethereum community's "account abstraction" upgrade.
