Multichain, a cross-chain protocol, has announced that it will compensate users affected by a "force majeure" that has caused some cross-chain routes to be unavailable. The team has acknowledged the issue and stated that the time for service to resume is unknown. However, most cross-chain routes are still functioning well and pending transactions will be credited automatically once service is restored. The compensation plan details will be announced at a later date. The issues have caused a drop in the value of Multichain's MULTI token and prompted some large crypto entities to take action, including withdrawing liquidity and moving funds to other exchanges.
