The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) has acquired Refik Anadol's "Unsupervised - Machine Hallucinations," marking the museum's first inclusion of a tokenized artwork in its permanent collection. Anadol used artificial intelligence to reinterpret over 200 years of art at MoMA, resulting in a three-part work displayed on a media wall with light, movement, sound, and external climatic elements.
The acquisition was made possible by benefactors from RFC Collection and 1of1, and Anadol expressed excitement and honor for the historic milestone. This acquisition follows MoMA's recent announcement of a collaboration involving NFT postcards, showcasing the convergence of traditional and digital art realms.
