June 21 (Cointime) - A partnership between Ibex Mercado and Grupo Salinas was announced at the Bitcoin 2023 conference in Miami, Florida. The collaboration will allow Mexicans to pay their internet bills at Total Play using the Bitcoin Lightning Network. This marks the beginning of Lightning functionality across Grupo Salinas, which owns multiple businesses in Mexico.

The CEO of Bitso, Daniel Vogel, believes that true financial inclusion involves giving people access to Bitcoin and sees potential for Mexico to become a major Bitcoin destination. Bitso has also partnered with Grupo Salinas and hinted at more projects to come.
