Metis, a layer-2 platform on Ethereum, has warned users not to purchase METIS on the BNB Blockchain following the recent PolyNetwork hack, which resulted in the theft of $5.5 million in assets.

Metis has taken a snapshot of all addresses holding METIS on the BNB Chain at the time of the PolyNetwork hack and will not recognize any addresses that attempt to purchase METIS from the BNB Chain.

Metis has also requested that community members withdraw liquidity from PancakeSwap, a popular decentralized exchange on the BNB Chain. The PolyNetwork hack affected 57 assets on ten platforms, including Ethereum, BNB Chain, and Metis, and analysts have criticized PolyNetwork for their slow response to the hack.
