Metis: A Total of 117,000 Metis Will Be Compensated to Users Who Hold Metis on Bnb Chain and Are Affected by the Poly Network Attack

On September 15th, Metis will compensate users who hold METIS on the BNB Chain and were affected by the Poly Network attack by distributing 117,000 METIS tokens (from Metis Foundation's own reserves) to affected users, while implementing Layer Zero's OFT architecture for METIS tokens on other chains.

Metis stated that it will upgrade to the OFT cross-chain standard developed on Layer Zero, which allows native Metis tokens to seamlessly trade, hold, and use on supported blockchains. The first two supported chains are BNB Chain and Avalanche.

Secondly, Metis will compensate users who were defrauded due to the hacker stealing the MetisDAO Twitter account, and encourage affected users to submit support tickets on the Metis Discord channel to verify on-chain activity and confirm claims.
