Another Bitcoin whale, an investor who holds more of the cryptocurrency than most, has reawakened after not having transacted for nearly 12 years. The investor, who moved 400 Bitcoin (worth nearly $11m at current prices), made a single transaction moving 360 BTC ($9.8m) to one wallet and the remaining 40 BTC to various other locations. This follows similar movements by Bitcoin whales in recent weeks and months, indicating that these investors are increasingly active. Although large movements of cryptocurrency do happen regularly, it is rare for an investor who hasn’t budged their coins in a decade to make such a large transaction. Bitcoin’s value is up more than 40,000% in the past 10 years. Those who hold onto their cryptocurrency for long-term tend to make higher profits than inexperienced retail investors who buy and sell in the short-term. The price of Bitcoin currently stands at about $27,280, down more than 10% in the past week and 1.3% in the past 24 hours.
