LG Files Patent for Blockchain-Based Smart TV to Facilitate NFT Trading

LG Electronics has filed for a patent for a blockchain-based smart TV that will enable users to connect their crypto wallets and an NFT market server to trade non-fungible tokens. The patent was applied for in November 2021, and LG is currently awaiting the next steps in the process. The company has already launched an NFT platform and a crypto wallet, and it remains to be seen whether the smart TVs will support other third-party apps or use the wallet exclusively. LG and other big tech companies are expanding the functionalities of electronic devices to enhance user experiences, with LG and Samsung both exploring Web 3, crypto, blockchain, and metaverse.
